We build software — and the language tools that let it speak.

Guwit is a Nigerian technology company. We make mobile apps, websites and WhatsApp ordering systems, and we do translation work for Gungbe, Nigerian Pidgin and other languages that most software skips entirely.

Why language

Most software has never heard your language.

Gungbe is spoken every day across Badagry and into the Republic of Benin. Nigerian Pidgin is spoken by tens of millions. Neither is well served by the tools everyone else builds on — there is little training data, few dictionaries in digital form, and almost no software that treats them as first-class.

We work on that gap directly: teaching apps, recorded audio, glossaries and translation for organisations that need to reach people in the language they actually think in.

Our language services

  • Translation — documents, health and public information, product copy and app strings, into and out of Gungbe, Nigerian Pidgin, Yoruba and English.
  • Audio and transcription — native-speaker recordings and written transcripts, useful for teaching material and for language datasets.
  • Localisation — adapting an interface so it reads naturally, rather than translating word by word into something nobody says.
  • Teaching material — structured lessons and vocabulary, of the kind that sits behind our own Learn Gungbe app.

How we work

Four stages, in this order.

Every project runs the same way, and you know at each point what has been agreed and what it costs.

Stage 01

Talk it through

We work out what the thing has to do and who has to use it. Free, and it usually takes one conversation.

Stage 02

Scope and quote

A written scope with a fixed price, a delivery date and a clear list of what is not included.

Stage 03

Build and review

You see working software early and often, not a finished surprise at the end.

Stage 04

Launch and maintain

We deploy it, hand over the accounts, and stay on for support if you want us to.

Tell us what you need built.

Send a short description of the problem. We will tell you honestly whether we are the right people for it.
